Women’s Basketball Set To Travel To Greece And Croatia

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – It was announced today [July 29] that the Providence College women’s basketball team will travel to Greece and Croatia from August 5 – 15. The team is scheduled to play two games during the trip against Amilla Peristeriou Basketball Club (Aug. 8) and the Croatian All-Stars (Aug. 12). The last time the Friars embarked on an international tour was in 2015, when they traveled to France and Italy. A trip to Ireland was previously planned but was canceled due to the pandemic.
 
The Friars will depart from the United States on Aug. 5 and arrive in Athens, Greece. Following their game against Amilla Peristeriou Basketball Club, the Friars will also make a stop in Glyfada, Greece.
 
Providence also will travel to Split, Croatia, where they will face the Croatian All-Stars. The team will close out its trip in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
 
In addition to the games, the Friars will be practicing, sightseeing and participating in community service engagements.
