Who We Are Looking For:

The Lighting Technician at Spy Ninjas HQ will be the point person for all lighting repairs and maintenance. The lighting effects technician will ensure scheduled maintenance is conducted on all special lighting projects. The lighting effects technician will be a liaison between the attractions and tech team to ensure timely resolution of any repairs and maintenance of lighting.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical, mechanical, and technical work related to construction, repairs, preventive and scheduled maintenance.
• Maintain lighting systems for arcade settings, including game areas, interactive zones, and special event setups.
• Climb ladders and operate lifts to repair various lighting functions.
• Program and control lighting systems using DMX protocols, including addressing and configuring fixtures.
• Operate and troubleshoot LED lighting systems, ensuring consistent and vibrant displays across various setups.
• Use MADRIX software to control and create visual effects, synchronizing lighting to music, events, and arcade activities.
• Perform soldering for wiring, connectors, and LED fixtures to ensure high-quality, safe, and reliable installations.
• Collaborate with the creative team to bring unique lighting visions to life, contributing ideas and suggestions for lighting setups.
• Maintain, test, and repair lighting systems as needed, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Provide technical support for arcade events and activities, adjusting lighting as needed for specific functions.
• Maintain accurate inventory records.
• Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the mechanic shop and facility.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience We Are Looking For:

• Basic/moderate computer skills
• Proficiency in DMX lighting control systems, including programming and troubleshooting.
• Strong experience with LED lighting systems and their installation.
• Knowledge of MADRIX or similar software for lighting control and effects.
• Skilled in soldering for both wiring and component repair/replacement.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics for lighting installations.
• Familiarity with basic electrical principles and safety standards in lighting installations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Attention to detail and a passion for creating immersive visual experiences.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience working in the arcade or entertainment industry.
• Knowledge of video mapping or projection mapping techniques.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-energy environments.
• Previous experience with lighting setups for live events, shows, or installations.
• Ability to learn and utilize multiple systems that support the business
• Skilled in practical application of electronics and mechanics
• Basic working knowledge of hand tools; ability to use and handle tools to perform work
• Knowledgeable on OSHA regulations and safety practices
• Availability to work days, nights and/or weekends
• General knowledge/skill set on the repair and maintenance of Virtual Reality equipment and arcade games experience or willingness to learn
• Must have a meticulous attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, project management skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize
• Ability to succinctly communicate vertically and in writing and provide clear direction and updates
• Must possess a strong desire to work in a team first environment
