SIMPLE ASSAULT

At 5:28 a.m., July 16, Cranston Police Officers arrested Mykal Reyes, 20 of 575 Dyer Ave., Cranston, for simple assault and disorderly conduct. At the same time, Cranston Police also arrested Corday Darnley, 18, of 83 Victoria Ave., Cranston, for the same charges — simple assault and disorderly conduct. The arrests were the result of a disturbance at 96 Harris Ave. Both Reyes and Darnley were awaiting arraignment, according to Cranston Police.

DRUG CHARGES

Around 4:45 p.m., July 15, Cranston Police Officers arrested Amy Bridges, 43, of 3 Salmon St., Apt. 1, Providence, for one count of Possession of a Schedule I to V Controlled Substance (first office; under 10 grams). The arrest was the result of a self-initiated traffic stop in the area of 1441 Elmwood Ave. Bridges was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and transported to the ACI as a bail or probation violator, according to police.

DRUG CHARGES

At 7:16 p.m., July 15, Cranston Police Officers arrested George Atkins, 40, of 40 Ausdale Road, Cranston, for three counts of Manufacture/Delivery/Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance — of Fentanyl, Cocaine, and Crack Cocaine. Arrest was the result of Atkins turning himself in on a Cranston Police arrest warrant. Atkins was transported to 3rd District Court.

DOMESTIC SIMPLE ASSAULT

At 7:54 a.m., July 15, Cranston Police Officers arrested Alexander Greenwood, 27, of 78 Walden Way, Cranston, for Domestic Simple Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of the subject turning himself in on a CPD arrest warrant. Greenwood was transported to 3rd District Court.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

At 7:26 p.m., July 14, Cranston Police Officers arrested Matthew Saygbah, 36, of 1257 Cranston St., for Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of a response to a disturbance at Stop & Shop, 204 Garfield Ave. He was held for arraignment.

SHOPLIFTING, DRUGS & OBSTRUCTION

At 2:14 p.m., July 14, Cranston Police Officers arrested Edwin Gonzalez, 29, of 18 Pengrove St., for Felony Shoplifting, Habitual Shoplifting, Possession of Schedule II (Fentanyl), and Obstruction. The arrest was the result of a “self-initiated suspicious activity call.” Gonzalez was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and transported to the ACI.

DUI WITH CHILD PASSENGER

Around 11:30 p.m., July 13, Cranston Police Officers arrested Bernard Akonye, 41, of 17 Bellevue Ave., Warwick, for DUI (first offense, BAC unknown) and cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test and DUI with child passenger under the age of 13 (first offense). The arrest was the result of an accident investigation at the intersection of Broad Street and Wheeler Avenue.

Disposition of Arrestee: Awaiting arraignment.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

At 7:53 p.m., July 13, Cranston Police Officers arrested Steven Rogers, 27, of 10 Carrie Ann Drive, for a 24-hour Warrant for Domestic Assault, Domestic Vandalism and Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. The arrest was the result of mutual aid call with West Warwick Police. Rogers was at an area hospital awaiting arraignment, according to Cranston Police.

WARRANT ARREST

At 7:04 p.m., July 12, Cranston Police Officers arrested Jesse Cordeiro, 37, homeless, for an outstanding warrant issued by the Rhode Island State Police. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Wellington Avenue. Cordeiro was turned over to Rhode Island State Police.

DOMESTIC SIMPLE ASSAULT

At 9:33 p.m., July 12, Cranston Police Officers arrested Robert Chandler, 29, of 11 Milford St., Cranston, for Domestic Simple Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of a call for service at the aforementioned address. Chandler was awaiting arraignment by a Justice of the Peace as a bail or probation violator.

DOMESTIC B&E

Around 11:09 p.m., July 11, Cranston Police Officers arrested Juan C. Rodriguez, 24, of 361 Dyer Ave., Cranston for Domestic Breaking and Entering of a Dwelling House Without Consent, Vandalism/Malicious Injury to Property, and Violation of a No Contact Order as a result of a disturbance at the aforementioned address. He was held for morning Court

OBTAINING VEHICLES WITH INTENT TO DEFRAUD

At 6:09 p.m., July 11, Cranston Police arrested Ryan Cordeiro, 44, of 46 McKinley St., Providence, for Obtaining Vehicles with intent to Defraud. The arrest wa the result of a pick up at Tiverton Police Department. Cordeiro was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.

SEX OFFENDER ADDRESS CHANGE

At 8:54 p.m., July 11, Cranston Police Officers arrested Lyuchan Santiago Rodriguez, 22, of 30 Howard Ave., Cranston, for Sexual Offender Address Change. The arrest was the result of an attempted pick up at the aforementioned address. The defendant was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and remanded to the ACI as a probation or parole violator, according to Cranston Police.

WARRANT ARREST

At 4:55 p.m., July 10, Cranston Police Officers arrested Alia Stroker, 21, of 30 Beech Ave., Cranston, for a Warrant of Arrest on Affidavit issued by Burrillville Police Department. The arrest was the result of an attempted pick-up at the aforementioned address. Stroker was turned over to Burrillville Police.

DOMESTIC SIMPLE ASSAULT

At 7:53 p.m., July 10, Cranston Police Officers arrested Michael Sabetta, 23, of 113 Dunedin St., Cranston, for Domestic Simple Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of a call for service at the aforementioned address. Sabetta was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.

VANDALISM

At 11:47 p.m., July 9, Cranston Police Officers arrested Hector Garces, 44, of 321 Phenix Ave., Cranston, for vandalism and disorderly conduct. The arrest was a result of a hold-up alarm activation at Garden Shell, 1207 Pontiac Ave. Garces was awaiting arraignment, according to Cranston Police.

DUI

At 1:46 p.m., July 10, Cranston Police Officers arrested Rodolfo Castro Dubon, 45, of 96 Bain St., for DUI (BAC unknown and breathalyzer refusal). The arrest was the result of a car stop at the intersection of Cranston and Bain streets. Dubon was awaiting arraignment, according to Cranston Police.

GUN & DRUG ARREST

At 5:39 p.m., July 9, Cranston Police Officers arrested Jessica Dupont, 49, of 306 Aylsworth Ave., Woonsocket, for License or Permit for Carrying a Pistol, Large Capacity Feeding Devices, and Possession of Schedule I-V (under 10 grams). The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Cranston Street at Princess Avenue.

At the same time, during the same traffic stop, Cranston Police also arrested Gavin Jacobs, 19, of 227 Arlington Ave.m Warwick, for Possession of Schedule I-V (under 10 grams

Dupont and Jacobs were both arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

At 5:39 p.m., July 9, Cranston Police Officers arrested Edgar Ramos Larios, 39, of 104 Roosevelt Ave., Apt. 2, Providence, for three counts of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of 1810 Plainfield Pike, according to Cranston Police. Larios was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and remanded to the ACI.

DOMESTIC CRANK CALLS

At 6:57 p.m., July 8, Cranston Police Officers arrested Jonathan Grice, 26, of 47 Burnside St., Providence, for Domestic Crank or Obscene Phone Calls as a result of the suspect turning himself in at Headquarters. Grice was arraigned and released by a Justice of the Peace, according to Cranston Police.

MISDEMEANOR SUSPENDED LICENSE

Around 5:19 p.m., May 31, Warwick Police Officer Connor R. Bemis was at a fixed traffic post across from Motel 6 on Jefferson Boulevard when he spotted a grey Dodge pass with an expired registration. According to the arrest report, the expired registration was shown to be suspended on a blue Toyota as of 2019.

Bemis initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Angel A. Colon Vega, 25, of 501 Reservoir Ave., Apt. 13, Cranston. According to police, the driver’s license had been suspended under the Colin B. Foote Act, a Rhode Island state law that levies higher penalties for repeat traffic violations.

The driver was arrested and charged with Driving after Denial/Revocation/Suspension for Certain Violations (first offense; a misdemeanor). He was transported to Warwick Police Headquarters and later released without incident.

ROAD CLOSURE

Cranston Police issued a warning to motorists on the department’s social media accounts.

“Attention: Road closure for St Mary’s Feast,” wrote Cranston Police. “The road will be closed from”  Phenix Avenue at Greene Avenue, through Phenix Avenue at Cranston Street, from Wednesday, July 17, at 3 p.m., through Monday, July 22, at 8 a.m.

“Expect delays and seek alternative routes,” warn Cranston Police.
