The Cranston retiree class of 2024 overall had an impressive total of 1,046 years of dedication in and out of the classroom for the district.
These employees all worked through COVID, contract negotiations, arctic air days, extreme heat days and stuck it out with their fortitude and devotion to the students of Cranston schools.
There were 29 certified people who stepped down, and 13 non-certified.
This particular group had several people well into their 30 years of working at CPS.
Those who are moving on to the next chapters of their lives and leaving the early morning wake ups to the next group of classroom teachers are; Doris Robert (26 years), Sheila Lagasse (32 years), Sheree Koval (29 years), Joan Piascik (23 years), Susan Cianci (35 years), Katrina Pillay (10 years), Gerard Dion (17 years), Thomas Lavoie (25 years), Ellen Dressler (32 years), Kathleen McAuliffe (33 years), Susan Maguire (30 years), Marilyn Murray (32 Years), Ana Saraiva (22 years), Janice McGuirl (26 years), Arthur Montanaro (37 years), Deana Desjarlais (25 years), Vivian Julier (7 years), Joyce McGuire (23 years), Karen Bessette (30 years), Sandra Sabetta (36 years), Nancy Vitulli (29 years), Clara Costa (24 years), Donna Read (35 years), Joann Valk (36 years), Victoria Hathaway (33 Years), Lynn Morales (26 years), Maryann Derderian (33 years) and Cathy Jimenez-Long (37 Years).
And those who have served the district in different, but no less important, ways are:

Special recognition to Lisa Abbott and Lori Ryan for their 45 years of commitment and devotion to the students of Cranston.
