PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — First responders are at the scene of a large fire in an industrial area off Allens Avenue in Providence.
A plume of thick smoke can be seen for miles as firefighters work to knock down the flames at Rhode Island Recycled Metals.
The roadway is currently down to one lane, which could cause traffic in the area.
We have a crew at the scene. Tune in to 12 News at Noon for a live report.
This is the second fire this year at the scrap metal yard. A spokesperson for Rhode Island Recycled Metals told 12 News back in April that they believed the previous fire was a case of arson.
