LINCOLN, R.I. (WPRI) — Police have arrested a Cumberland woman accused of driving drunk and crashing her car into a utility pole over the weekend.
Jennifer Masi, 41, has been charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in property damage. Masi was also cited for speeding, driving uninsured and refusing to submit to a chemical test.
Officers were called to the intersection of Commerce Street and Blackstone Valley Place late Sunday night the investigation reports of a crash that caused a widespread power outage.

The officers arrived to find an abandoned and heavily-damaged SUV, as well as a downed power line, according to police.
Witnesses told the officers the driver, later identified by police as Masi, got out of the car and started walking toward a nearby baseball field.
Police said the officers found Masi a short distance away from the crash. She was taken into custody after the officers noticed she had bloodshot and watery eyes, was slurring her speech and had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, according to police.
Masi was brought to Landmark Medical Center for evaluation and was ordered to appear in 3rd District Court at a later date.
