PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island Energy is alerting customers to upcoming changes that will affect their accounts.
The utility provider said it plans to launch a new website on Monday, Aug. 19, which will require customers to create a new online profile and reset their password.
“This is a significant milestone as we complete our transition from National Grid, and we want to be sure customers understand how these changes will affect them and that they have all the information they need,” Rhode Island Energy President Greg Cornett said in a press release.

In addition to updating their login details, customers will be asked to confirm their payment methods and double-check other account settings, according to Rhode Island Energy.
The goal, the company said, is to improve the user experience and make sure customers are well-informed. To that end, Rhode Island Energy will also be updating its bill design to provide a more in-depth breakdown of charges.
