Two men were found dead in Omega Pond in East Providence, Rhode Island, according to officials.
Joseph Fritz, 52, of East Providence, and Gregory Boerman, 37, of Allston, Massachusetts, were found dead and the cause of their deaths remains unknown, according to The Providence Journal.
The families of the two men alerted police that they had not returned from their kayaking outing Thursday night, according to the paper.
Police used a drone in the late morning Friday to locate one of the men on the surface of the water, near where two empty kayaks were found, according to the Journal.
The Rhode Island State Police diving team helped find the second man by around 1 p.m. the same day, according to NBC10 News.
As of Saturday, police did not suspect foul play, according to the news outlet.
